An Evening with The Heritage Saxophone Quartet

Drawing on the skills of some of the finest session players in the country, The Heritage Saxophone Quartet bring a mixture of Jazz standards arranged especially for the group and original compositions by Pete Shelley, there will be something for everyone in this evening’s programme.

An Evening with The Heritage Saxophone Quartet

The gardens will be open from 6pm, with complimentary welcome drinks and canapés served in the walled garden.  The Heritage Saxophone Quartet will begin their performance at 7pm in ARCADIA, they will be performing a mixture of Jazz standards arranged especially for the group and original compositions by Pete Shelley, there will be something for everyone in this evening’s programme.  Drinks will be available to purchase from the bar during the interval. Please note, the concert will be being recorded live.

Pete Shelley-Soprano and Alto Saxophones

Pete has enjoyed a successful career as woodwind player: from cruise ships to the West End theatre and the studio. Highlights include Chicago, 42nd Street and he plays regularly with the Glenn Miller Orchestra UK. More recently Pete has developed a love for composition, writing music for a wide range of ensembles. His award-winning Yr Wyddfa was premiered by the Prince of Wales Band earlier this year and he composed a complete Requiem Mass for Choir and Orchestra which also premiered this year.

James Hunt-Baritone Saxophone

James was awarded the Eddie Harvey Jazz prize while studying at The London College of Music. He has enjoyed a varied career, playing with the likes of The Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Nick Ross Orchestra, Back to Basie and he has toured nationally with shows such as The Rat Pack, Lost In Music and three years as lead Alto Saxophone player for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. James runs his own music agency in his native Shropshire.

Damian Cook- Alto Saxophone

Damian has toured internationally with artists such as Palmoa Faith, Roy Wood, Mick Taylor, The Four Tops and The Temptations as well as working with bands including The Glenn Miller Orchestra UK, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra and the Empress Orchestra. He has also performed in the West End in shows such as Chicago, Avenue Q and The Rat Pack and was awarded the Outstanding Soloist Award in the BBC Radio 2 Big Band Competition in 2004.

Martin Dunsdon- Tenor Saxophone

Martin has worked with Al Martino, Jack Jones, Stacey Kent, The Glenn Miller Orchestra UK, The Syd Lawrence, Michael Garrick, Joe Loss, Jeff Hooper and Freddy Staff Orchestras besides 'depping' on 'Chicago' and ‘The Rat Pack’ in the West End. He has played for the New York City Ballet at The Coliseum but when he get the chance he still loves to go out to play jazz ‘standards’ in a small club or pub somewhere.
