Hillingdon U3A

An early start this morning to water thoroughly, including the fruit cage and fruit tree border. The strawberries on one side of the fruit cage are still fruiting really well, the other side have concentrated more on growing leaves. We put the legs back on the marque and I then dead headed the sweet peas and removed untidy heads from the dahlias. I then dead headed all the marigold, pansies and geraniums and picked a big bowl of tomatoes to sell at the visit along with runner beans, courgettes and cucumbers.

As seems to be the pattern they were another lovely group and I took them on a slightly longer guided tour than usual, sometimes I get a bit carried away. Janet very kindly came to help with refreshments which is brilliant and Emma and Bobby came over to visit - we couldn’t believe the difference in him, even in such a short time, lots of giggles!

Patrick, Aideen and I then went to the opening of the beautiful new guide hut!
