12 APRIL 2020
Meave stayed in the Annexe again last night but actually dad was fine…however Jean was awful, waking me at least every hour either picking off her dressing or shifting alarmingly in her chair.
This is the strangest Easter Sunday ever because we are not allowed to go to church… the vicar isn’t even allowed in the church alone, and he cannot record a service in the church even if there are only two people, this does seem crazy to me because it is removing potential comfort from isolated people.
We spend part of the morning making videos of pretty parts of the garden to put together as a ‘virtual garden tour’ which can then be released at the time we would be having our ‘Open Day’ tomorrow. This does make me quite sad remembering all the lovely visitors we had last year on open days and group visits, it is such a shame that they cannot see all the beautiful tulips… I am also conscious that many of our visitors are elderly and will now be shut up for 12 weeks like us and I hope and pray that they are all ok.
We have a long family discussion on the mount about how to contruct the three benches on the mount, eventually settling on what we had originally planned. I decide to distract myself be clearing two beds, ready for potatoes – quite a heavy job – during which there is some loud thunder. Before coming in I plant some alstroemeria in the central border.
